Graeme Roy has resigned as manager of Rothes after less than a year in charge.
The former goalkeeper, who was assistant manager at Mackessack Park, agreed to succeed Frani More when he resigned in September 2013.
But the dental technician made the decision to step down following his club’s 8-0 home defeat to Fraserburgh on Saturday.
Roy’s assistant Rab Mulheron is expected to take charge on an interim basis while the club invites application for the post.
A club spokesman said: “It is with great regret that Rothes announce the resignation of our team manager Graeme Roy.
“We reluctantly accepted following the defeat to Fraserburgh on Saturday. Any applications for the job are invited to contact the club via rothesfc@highlandleague.com.
“He is a well-liked, enthusiastic football man and we wish Graeme all the best for the future and he will always be welcome at Mackessack Park.”
