Inverurie Locos co-manager Kenny Coull claims his players have a tougher draw than any other Highland League club in this weekend’s Scottish Cup.
Locos will face Scottish Junior Cup holders Hurlford United at Harlaw Park today. Coull said: “We found out quite a bit about Hurlford when my co-manager Scott Buchan saw them defeat Clach 7-1 in Inverness in the last round.
“We have home advantage and we really have nothing to lose, so, hopefully, our players will go out and enjoy the experience. We need to be at the top of our game tomorrow.”
Culter’s reward for their first-round victory over Strathspey Thistle is a trip to Bo’ness United.
Culter manager Hugh Robertson said: “We know that it is going to be a really hard game for us but we are all looking forward to it. We will go into this one as underdogs.”
There are three Highland League matches, the pick of the bunch being the Bellslea tussle between Fraserburgh and Buckie Thistle.
Broch assistant manager Mike Cormack said: “It will be a hard game but we have a fully-fit squad, apart from possibly Johnny Chalmers.”
Jags manager Gary Hake said: “It’s not ideal as I didn’t really want to be playing Fraserburgh twice within as many weeks. I don’t think this one will have any bearing on the Aberdeenshire Cup final.”
Strathspey Thistle’s top scorer, Adam MacLeod, misses the home game against Wick Academy with a knee injury, while the Scorries will be without defenders Grant Steven and Alan Farquhar.
Fort William will be without injured Keith Miller when they play Lossiemouth, who travel without defenders Kevin Flett and Mark Hector.
