After 49 years at Keith, president Sandy Stables is taking a step back from the running of the club with the arrival of former Huntly vice-chairman Andy Troup as the new chief executive.
SFA councillor Stables will continue his long-standing role and said: “I have been doing a lot with Keith for many years now and nowadays running a football club takes more and more time and, as I am at the ground every day, I tend to get it to do.
“I have been very fortunate. There are a lot of very good people at the club. But I’m not getting any younger. I’m 65 now and people have said to me for a long time I should take a step back.
“We are looking for some younger people to get involved at Kynoch Park and we have made a start with Andy Troup coming in as our new chief executive. He was at Huntly for many years and he has a vast amount of experience.
“We have a new club secretary in Ryan Roger. He comes from a local football family and his uncles, Graham and Neil, both played for Keith, as did his dad.
“I will be remaining as chairman and I will still be around to do as much as I can. I have been associated with the club since the age of 16 and have been president for the last 35 years. I have had a marvellous time with a lot of success.”
Troup said: “I noticed everything seemed to land on Sandy’s desk. It was a thankless task. Of course Sandy was more than willing to do it but I am trying to attract additional directors and committee members. We have quite a few local players and a local management team so that can only help us get a few more supporters through the turnstiles.”
