Huntly and Fort William go into today’s Christie Park Highland League match having found some form.
Gregg Carrol’s Huntly are a point ahead of the Lochaber side but he is well aware of how dangerous Fort can be. He said: “We drew 2-2 when we played at Claggan Park earlier in the season. They are coming into this one on the back of wins against Buckie Thistle and Keith but we have also won two of our last three league matches.
“They are a much-improved team, so we will be taking nothing for granted as there are no easy games in the Highland League these days.”
Huntly have a doubt over central defender Sam MacKenzie and Craig Dorrat is suspended.
Fort manager Calum MacLean said: “It is a real six-pointer as they are only a point ahead of us in the table and we could make it three wins on the spin for the first time since the final game of the 2001-2002 season when we beat Huntly at Claggan Park.
“It would give us a big lift.”
Buckie face Forres Mechanics at Victoria Park.
The Jags have midfielder Donnie Munro unavailable but midfielder pair Chris Angus and Neil Davidson, both of whom missed Wednesday’s 4-2 Aberdeenshire Shield defeat at Fraserburgh, return to the squad.
The Can-Cans will be without goalkeeper Stuart Knight, defender Graham Fraser, midfielder Ross McPherson and forward Scott Moore.
