The Breedon Highland League title race between Fraserburgh and Buckie Thistle could go down to the last game of the season.
Here we look at some other memorable finishes to title races over the years.
1976
Nairn County and Fraserburgh finished level on points and contested the last championship play-off in the history of the league at a packed Borough Briggs, Elgin.
It was the Wee County who struck first courtesy of Alec Gordon just before half-time, but early in the second period Gibby Stephen levelled for the Broch.
As the nerves jangled extra-time was required to decide the victor with Peter Robertson’s chip from the edge of the area winning Nairn their first title.
1986
Forres Mechanics had been pushed all the way Elgin City in an enthralling title race, but come their final game against Caledonian at Mosset Park the Can-Cans needed only a point to clinch their first championship.
Steve Paterson fired Forres in front before Steve Polson’s own goal in the closing stages sealed a memorable triumph for the Moray side.
2007
Inverurie Locos started the last day in pole position knowing victory at home to Cove Rangers would give them the title, while Keith – who faced Nairn County at Kynoch Park – needed to win and for the Railwaymen to slip up.
The Maroons did their bit with Neil Robertson, Barry Somers and Martin Wood putting them three ahead by the mid-point of the second half.
Meanwhile, at Harlaw Park Inverurie made a 69th minute breakthrough courtesy of Neil McLean, only for the trophy to be ripped from their grasp as Jake Strachan equalised for Cove.
2011
Local rivals Buckie Thistle and Deveronvale clashed at Victoria Park in a final game shoot-out. For the Jags a draw would have been sufficient while the Banffers had to win.
The visitors took the lead with Mark Chisholm’s first half header, but Martin Charlesworth’s strike put Buckie back in position to win the league.
And in the dying embers, Andy Low sealed it with a stunning free-kick.
2013
Another winner takes it all showdown between the division’s top two.
Formartine United needed to avoid defeat against Cove Rangers at a sodden North Lodge Park to claim the championship.
Cove struck early on through Jamie Beagrie and after home defender Stephen Jeffrey had been sent off Ryan Stott’s second confirmed the Aberdeen side as champions.
