Cove Rangers manager John Sheran reckoned his side was well worth the three points, but claimed referee Davie Watt’s decision to send off goalkeeper Murray Kinnaird was the wrong one.
Sheran said: “The fact that there were no serious injuries or any really bad tackles showed the referee was right to let the game go ahead.
“I didn’t agree with his decision to send off Murray Kinnaird as Alan Redford got round to cover in behind the goalkeeper at the time, but so be it.
“We were absolutely fantastic in the second half, we passed the ball really well in what were difficult conditions, the nine outfield players worked really hard and everybody put in a great shift.
“We tried to get in behind their defence with the pace of the players we have in our attack and I think Daryl Nicol provided that when he came on.
“Unfortunately for Jon Smith he had to come off so we could get a quick player into the game.”
Sheran reckoned there were no weak links in the team when he added: “All the players did well, we knew we had to get on the ball in the second half and make passes, that’s what we did. They all wanted the ball and put in a power of work.
“Lossie worked hard, they were well-organised, just like any Lossiemouth side I’ve ever faced over the years, they work particularly hard with Charlie Charlesworth in charge, but they did lack a cutting edge, although that could be put down to our defence who did really well throughout the game.
“Any win up here at Grant Park is a good one, it is never easy so it was a very good three points for us.”
