Manager Gregg Carrol and his two assistants, Steve Dolan and Mark Gray, have signed new two-year contract extensions with Huntly.
Four-time Highland League championship winner Carrol, who arrived at Christie Park a year ago, said: “When we came to Huntly last year it was important we had an idea of what we had to do.
“We knew there wasn’t a lot of money to spend on players, which was fine, but we needed to do some wheeling and dealing which we’ve done with a number of additions to the playing squad. I’m confident we’ve got good players, they are still making fundamental mistakes in games and will need to learn from it.”
Huntly chairman George Clark said that, despite recent results which have left the Black and Golds fifth bottom of the Highland League, he still has great faith in Carrol and his team.
He said: “I am delighted Gregg, Mark and Steve have agreed to extend their contracts and continue with the rebuilding of the team.
“They have worked extremely hard to bring in new players within our stringent financial budgets and, while the results have not been everything they had hoped for, I believe we are not far away from having a competitive team on the park.”
Huntly will need to be at their best this afternoon to take anything from the derby game against Inverurie Locos.
Cove Rangers will look to repeat their recent 6-1 League Cup win over Keith when the Maroons, bolstered by the return from suspension of full back Stewart Hutcheon, and midfielder Stuart Massie, are again the visitors to Allan Park.
Fraserburgh will give late tests to veteran captain Russell McBride, who has a rib injury, and fellow centre half Marc Dickson, who has a knee knock, ahead of a rejuvenated Deveronvale’s trip to Bellslea.
