Manager Stuart Anderson feels tomorrow’s Scottish Cup clash with Stenhousemuir is the equivalent to a cup final for Formartine United.
A place in round four alongside the 12 Premiership clubs is up for grabs at North Lodge Park.
Anderson says the Pitmedden side will have their work cut out against the Warriors, who play in League Two.
But the potential prize of a glamour tie for progressing is a great incentive for United.
Anderson said: “Stenhousemuir are a good side, they were favourites to win their league at the start of the season.
“They recruited well over the summer and it will be a very difficult game, but it’s one we’re looking forward to.
“We’re at home in the third round of the Scottish Cup and it’s a cup final for us really because whoever gets through will have the chance to potentially play Premiership opposition in the next round.

“But we’re well aware that we’re massive underdogs, however, we’ll give our best and hopefully we can get a result.
“We’ll need to be switched on defensively because they will ask us questions.
“We also need to carry a threat at other end because at the end of the day it’s about scoring more goals than the opposition.
“You need to have two sides to your game and those are the things we’ll need to be on the ball with.”
Formartine have defeated East Stirlingshire and Carnoustie Panmure to reach this stage.
Anderson says this tie provides a good chance for his side – which is currently fifth in the Breedon Highland League – to showcase its talents.
He added: “It is a good opportunity for some of the younger players to maybe get on a bigger platform, particularly if we were to get through.
“It’s a chance to test themselves against higher level opposition.
“But for the experienced boys as well they’ll view it as a chance to get to the fourth round again.
“There’s motivation for everyone, we’re all after the same thing and it’s a game we’re really looking forward to.”
