Lossiemouth manager Joe Russell is determined to try to make the most of their GPH Builders Merchants Highland League Cup reprieve.
The Coasters face Brechin City at Grant Park today in the quarter-final of the tournament.
Lossie were beaten 3-0 by Nairn County in the first round last month, but were reinstated after it came to light their opponents had fielded an ineligible player.
Russell would like to take advantage of that stroke of luck, but admits it will be difficult for his side against the Hedgemen.
He said: “It’s a bit strange to have a second chance in this cup.
“Obviously we wanted to win the first round tie and it’s a shame for Nairn to have beaten us 3-0 and be knocked out on a technicality.
“But we’ve got a second chance and we need to try to grasp it and cause an upset.
“It’s a cup game, anything can happen and we’ll give it a go, but it’s a difficult ask for us.
“We’ll try to have a go, but we’ll need to keep it tight at the back otherwise it will be difficult.”
Having made an impressive start in the Breedon Highland League, Brechin boss Andy Kirk is also keen to progress in the League Cup.
He added: “Everyone wants to be successful by winning leagues or cups and we’re no different.
“The club had a decline over a few years but everything changed last year with the whole structure of the club and people are putting in a lot of work.
“It’s my job to make sure the team is doing well on the pitch.
“It will be a difficult afternoon and everyone will be feeling the same, with a break or two in the cup you can find yourself in the final.”
