Brora Rangers stayed on course to retain their Highland League title at a windswept Kynoch Park on Saturday when Keith failed to halt the Sutherland juggernaut.
Brora manager Davie Kirkwood said: “We dominated possession and chances, although the pitch and wind conditions made the game a bit of a lottery.
“We were very professional about our business, but it really was impossible for both teams.
“Keith only had one chance at the back post, our goalkeeper was never really troubled”.
The unbeaten league leaders started with the fierce wind at their backs and scored twice in the opening nine minutes to take control of the game.
Daniel Bell turned Steven Mackay’s shot round the post in the third minute, and Craig McKeown scored from the ensuing corner.
Just six minutes later Gavin Morrison’s wind-assisted 45-yard free kick flew into the roof of the net.
Keith regrouped and fought hard, however, with Aaron Scully hitting the bar from close range on the hour mark.
The visitors wound up the scoring in the 75th minute when Grant Munro headed home unchallenged from 12 yards.
Three minutes from the end Bell pulled off a fine save from a Mackay penalty.
Maroons manager Gordon Winton said: “It was disappointing to lose two goals as early as we did.
“However, I was pleased that we held on until half-time.
“The wind was pretty severe and didn’t help.
“We started the second half solidly and, had Scully scored instead of hitting the bar, it might have been different a different game at 2-1.”
Brora remain five points ahead of nearest challengers Turriff United.
