Wick Academy came out on top against Buckie Thistle at a windy Victoria Park on Saturday.
Although Wick forward Davie Allan failed to score, he had a hand in all three of the visitors’ goals.
Jags manager Graeme Stewart said: “I don’t think there was much between the two teams but they did have a little bit more to offer in the final third of the park.
“Their attacking players carried more threat than us but the wind definitely killed the game.
“They went in 1-0 up with the wind at their backs in the first half and I honestly believed we had a good chance in the second half.
“But unfortunately Iain MacRae made a couple of mistakes, the first one just after the restart leading to their second goal.
“After that we were chasing the game and they did what we would have done, and killed the game.”
Steven Anderson-Hamilton scored the opener for Wick after Allan had played him through, with attacker Lukasz Geruzel adding the second and Richard Macadie putting Academy three up.
Craig MacMillan pulled one back for the hosts.
Academy manager Gordon Connelly said: “Buckie is never an easy place to go, especially when it’s as windy as it was today, but we’re delighted to have preserved our fantastic away record – we’ve only lost one game on our travels all season.
