Jings, Keith just can’t get a run going at all this season – a 10th home league defeat was the outcome as the Maroons succumbed meekly to high flying Fraserburgh.
The ‘Brochers won pretty comfortably, and the second half was more like a Sunday afternoon stroll as I don’t think their goalie had a single direct save to make.
The Maroons had no cohesion to their play at all, and their passing was really dire – apparently in training their passing is sharp, slick and accurate – well against Kris Hunter’s men they couldn’t pass water! Passes failed to find team-mates, in some cases the ball flew out of the field of play.
Worryingly, goals are being leaked at an alarming rate, and they are on course to lose over 100 league goals for the first in around 60 years. The cause wasn’t helped with the injury to goalie Daniel Bell after only 18 minutes, but his replacement 17-year-old David Dey is an able ‘keeper and he could nothing about the flow of goals coming in.
Midfield was also a weak area, with ‘Broch in command throughout, and of course they are a good side, with top strikers and it showed all afternoon. It’s going to be a tough trip to Rothes next Saturday, where the bottom dogs are guaranteed to fight tooth and nail – so we will have to do the same.
