Fraserburgh have rejected an approach from Formartine United for permission to speak to manager Kris Hunter.
The Press and Journal revealed last Wednesday the Broch manager is the man United want to replace Steve Paterson, who left North Lodge Park following a 3-2 home defeat to Huntly earlier this month.
But the Broch are determined to keep their manager, who has won three trophies in his four seasons at Bellslea and has the chance to win a fourth after leading the club to the final of the Morrison Motors Aberdeenshire Shield.
Fraserburgh chairman Finlay Noble said: “We’ve had an approach from Formartine for permission to speak to Kris, which we refused.
“Kris recently signed a new contract and is highly respected by everyone at Fraserburgh.
“It’s no surprise to see other clubs are keen on him but we want him to stay with us.”
