Deveronvale attacker Gary Harris was delighted to get two goals against Fraserburgh on his competitive debut for his new club and hopes they are the first of many for the Banffers.
Harris, who signed during the close season from Turriff United, was a member of both Deveronside and Deveronvale youth set-ups early in his career, but the forward has blossomed over the past few years, firstly at Keith, and more recently at Turriff. He fell out of favour at the Haughs last season.
Vale manager Ally MacLeod saw Harris as a vital part of the side he is trying to build at Banff and moved for the experienced forward.
Harris said: “It is great to get off the mark as it is always in your mind to strike early, so hopefully I can push on from there and grab a few more goals.
“I don’t feel pressure coming back to my home-town team. I hadn’t really thought about it, the main thing for me is getting back playing on a regular basis and enjoying my football.
“We have some new players at the club. The supporters will hope to see the team click, but it will take time. There are positive signs but they need to stick with us as Ally moulds the side.
“There could be more new faces coming to the club, along with the possibility of Graeme Watt coming back.
“We have another chance to gel on Wednesday when Aberdeen University are our opponents in the Aberdeenshire Cup. We look forward to that challenge.”
