A superb second-half strike from Joe McCabe gave Inverurie Locos the points at Harlaw Park.
Buckie were first to threaten in the fifth minute when Stuart Taylor’s cross was met firmly by Jamie Fraser, but his header was saved at point-blank range by Scott Mathieson.
Jamie Fraser was proving influential for the visitors and soon after he fed Chris Angus, who’s floated effort went just wide of the left-hand post.
Locos came into the game as the half wore on, Greg Mitchell testing Greig Sim in the Buckie goal on the half-hour mark and Sim followed this up to deny youngster McCabe just before the break.
McCabe lit up a drab second half with a stunning goal for Locos in the 60th minute. With seemingly nothing on, he rifled a 30-yard drive low into the bottom right corner of the net.
Jordan Leyden’s free kick was misjudged by Sim and came back off the crossbar twenty minutes from time, then substitute David Ross missed a great chance to seal the points in the 80th minute, firing over the bar after great set up play from Maclean and Leyden.
