Highland League club Deveronvale have signed six of last season’s under-17 squad on three-year contracts.
Midfielders Rory Davidson, Nathan Smith and Kieran Cowie, forward Jody Munro, defender Branden Watson and winger Paul Sutherland will get the chance to impress Vale manager Charlie Charlesworth who said: “There are other youth players who have not been quite as fortunate, that’s the harsh reality.
“We believe we have selected a group of players who will hopefully develop into regular first-team players.
“The priority now is for these young players to step into adult football, to learn and develop quickly and pose a challenge to the current first team squad in terms of selection.”
In addition, the Banff club has also signed teenage central midfielder, Greg Buchan, on a one-year deal.
