Five Highland League teams remain in the Scottish Cup following today’s third round ties.
Huntly drew with East of Scotland side Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale while Inverurie Locos also face a replay after drawing with SPFL League Two side Annan Athletic.
The all Highland League tie between Formartine United and Cove Rangers will also be decided by a replay after a 1-1 draw and, in the final scheduled game involving Highland League teams, Wick’s tie with Linlithgow Rose was called off.
Heavy downpours as well as the Scottish Cup ties meant only one Highland League match went ahead this afternoon.
Clachnacuddin v Lossiemouth, Forres Mechanics v Turriff United and
Fort William v Keith were all postponed due to waterlogged pitches but the one game which went ahead provided plenty of entertainment as Nairn County got the better of Deveronvale in a five goal thriller.
The Vale held a 2-1 lead going into the closing stages but two late Nairn goals secured all three points for Les Fridge’s side.
