Cove Rangers’ hopes of creating a new football stadium have moved a step further after a meeting with councillors.
Plans for a 300-seat ground were discussed at Aberdeen City Council’s pre-application forum.
The proposals also include a new synthetic pitch, floodlighting, and 110 car parking spaces at the site in Calder Park.
A pre-application consultation was held last month, with positive feedback to the plans.
The 3G pitch could also be used by other local clubs.
Previous applications from Cove Rangers had been approved conditionally for the redevelopment of Calder Park to create a football stadium and associated facilities.
In 2012, detailed planning permission for a football stadium with 490 seats was approved.
A detailed planning application for the current plan is hoped to be launched in February or March.
