Lossiemouth manager Charlie Charlesworth has signed his son Martin from Deveronvale on a three-year deal.
The 27-year-old will be denied a debut against Buckie Thistle today as the deal was not completed in time, but the attacker is relishing the move to his hometown club.
He said: “I already have a few good friends at the club such as captain Kevin Flett, Martin McMullan and goalkeeper Darren McConnachie.
“I have been on the verge of signing for them on a couple of occasions but I opted to join Buckie and then Deveronvale. The midweek travelling from Elgin, where I work, to Aberdeen to training was beginning to get tiring.”
Coasters manager Charlesworth said: “Martin was with me at Vale and this is a huge signing for us as there were other clubs chasing him.
“I didn’t put any pressure on. I left it up to him.”
Buckie will be without midfielder Donnie Munro, goalkeeper Ross Salmon and midfielder Shaun Carrol for the match at Grant Park which kicks-off at 2pm.
Fort William face Turriff United at Claggan Park, although this one is subject to a pitch inspection.
Fort goalkeeper Douglas MacLennan returns, defender Adam Porritt is back after a ban but midfielder Craig Mainland is ill.
Turriff will give a fitness test to attacker Gary McGowan but defender Chris Herd, midfielder Jamie Beagrie and forward Nick Gray are ruled out.
Clach should be at full strength for their Grant Street match against Forres Mechanics.
Forres will miss full back Simon Allan and the Fraser twins Graeme and Lee.
Inverurie Locos and Fraserburgh are both looking for a top-six spot when they meet at Harlaw Park.
Deveronvale’s new signing Ryan Robertson, and full back Zander Jack are set to feature against a much-improved Keith side at Princess Royal Park.
Nairn County will give captain and centre half Michael Morrison a test on his calf before the Station Park derby against Strathspey Thistle.
