Their hopes of winning the league may be over but Formartine United and Brora Rangers still have plenty to play for this afternoon.
The sides are contesting the runners-up spot in the Highland League after Cove Rangers were confirmed as champions on Wednesday.
The pair are locked on 82 points and have exactly the same goal-difference of plus 92.
The team finishing second will skip the opening round of the Scottish Cup and go straight into the draw for the second round. It is all to play for when United travel to Strathspey Thistle and Brora welcome Deveronvale to Dudgeon Park.
United manager Kris Hunter said: “I would like to congratulate Cove on winning the title but it is still very important for us to finish second in the league with that Scottish Cup incentive. I didn’t really think that after all the football that has been played this season that it would all come down to goal difference.
“Although we have the same goal difference as Brora, we have scored one more goal, so we do have that slim advantage.
“If we still had the same goal difference come the end of this weekend’s matches then that would secure second spot for us.”
Formartine will be without former Celtic, Motherwell and Ross County midfielder Paul Lawson, who has an ankle injury, while the Grantown Jags will show faith in the men who secured a 2-2 draw at Forres Mechanics last week.
The Formartine match kicks off an hour earlier than the Brora match at 2pm.
Brora will also look to end their season on a high with a convincing home win against Deveronvale, who will be without injured midfield trio Craig Cowie, Sean Keith and Bradley Manson. Forward Gary Harris is serving a one-game suspension.
Buckie Thistle entertain bottom club Rothes at Victoria Park without injured midfielder Scott Adams and goalkeeper Ross Salmon, while Craig Dorrat is unavailable.
The much-improved Speysiders welcome back defender Nathan Sharp and midfielder Callum McIntosh but Donald Horsburgh, Nathan Smith and Ryan Stuart are unavailable, while Blair MacDonald and Craig MacMillan are injured.
Forres welcome back defender Graeme Grant and Georgian midfielder Dachi Khutsishvili for their derby against Nairn County at Mosset Park, while forward Liam Baxter is a doubt with a foot injury.
