Caley Thistle manager Richie Foran believes his side can halt Celtic’s perfect start to the season on Sunday.
The Hoops will take on Barcelona in the Nou Camp in tonight’s opening round of Champions League fixtures.
Brendan Rodgers’ side left for Spain on a high after thrashing rivals Rangers 5-1 on Saturday to move two points clear of Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership with maximum points from four matches.
But while the Celts are focused on how to contain the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, Foran, pictured, is already plotting a way to derail the Hoops when they visit the Caledonian Stadium on Sunday.
And after following up their 2-1 victory against St Johnstone with a well-deserved 1-1 draw at Aberdeen on Saturday, Foran sees no reason for his players to be fearful against the champions.
He said: “The positive is we are unbeaten in two matches. Celtic are in fine form at the moment and that game will take care of itself.
“We won’t need a teamtalk in that game as the players will know what they are up against.
“I believe there is a lot more to come from my players. I will be setting out a team to try to win that game.”
Inverness lost all three matches against the Hoops last season, conceding 10 goals in the process.
But midfielder Iain Vigurs, who netted an exquisite equaliser and produced a man of the match performance against the Dons on Saturday, is relishing a chance to keep his side’s unbeaten run going against the title favourites.
He said: “I saw the Celtic game against Rangers and we all know what we are getting from them this season.
“They play with a lot of pace on the wings and in attack and press really high. We know what to expect and we will have to be on our game. I hope they do a lot of running in Barcelona.
“But Inverness have done well against Celtic in the past and we expect to take points from any game against any opposition. We have the players to hurt teams and that is no different this weekend.”
