Caley Thistle attacker Henri Anier has warned his teammates must stick together if they are to avoid being relegated from the Scottish Premiership.
Richie Foran’s men crashed out of the Scottish Cup with a humbling 6-0 thrashing by Celtic on Saturday with a Moussa Dembele hat-trick and goals from Mikael Lustig, Kieran Tierney and Scott Brown. The Caley Jags, who visit Hearts on Saturday, must focus on getting off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership and recent recruit Anier, pictured, said: “Since I joined a month ago I can see we have a good group of players. We’ve been positive, so we don’t think like we’re bottom of the league.
“We’re a bit under pressure but there are many games to go and we need to forget about the Celtic match and focus on the league because it’s very tight.
“We need to focus on the next league game and get the Celtic defeat out of our heads.
“We’ve been playing some nice football, although we didn’t show that against Celtic, but hopefully the results will come in the league.
“We just need to stick together and find a way to keep confidence up, stop conceding easy goals and put them away up the other end.
“It’s that simple. We’ve been working hard every day in training on our shape and we are working hard as well as the manager, it just hasn’t been going our way.
“We can’t drop our heads, we have to stay positive and hopefully our time will come.”
Anier suffered relegation with Dundee United last season but is confident he can avoid a similar fate with Caley Thistle.
He added: “Every club is different and in the month I’ve been here everything around the club has been very positive. We shouldn’t be sitting bottom of the table but that’s where we are.”
