Caley Thistle manager Richie Foran reckons Saturday’s late equaliser against Partick Thistle can reignite his side’s Premiership survival bid.
Bottom-of-the-table Inverness dug deep to secure a precious point at Firhill, with the 1-1 draw moving them to within a point of 11th-placed Hamilton Accies.
Carl Tremarco and Ross Draper return from suspension for Saturday’s vital Highland derby against Ross County at Caledonian Stadium, while Kevin McNaughton and Jake Mulraney are likely to be back in contention following injuries.
The Staggies are four points ahead but Foran senses the opportunity to turn the heat up on the teams above them.
He said: “At the end of the season I will be asked what the turning point was, and what the biggest points we got through the season were. I think I will look back at this game as being pivotal – it was a big point against a fantastic side.
“I thought everyone was excellent. The lads who were brought in were immense and it gives me a really nice headache for Saturday in picking the starting 11. I’m sure it will be nice and competitive this week in training.
“I’m delighted for the players and the supporters who were excellent. There were a couple of hundred of them who kept getting behind us and we appreciate that.
“Other results went our way as well which sets us up for a cracking game of football on Saturday.”
Foran felt his side’s late show was embodied by captain Gary Warren, whose header sealed the Highlanders a point with the last touch of the ball.
Foran added: “I’m delighted for Gary. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s a leader and a great captain.
“He likes the balls hung up for him. It was hung up well by Billy King and Gary is our most aggressive player in the air.
“That’s what he is looking for, that’s the service he wants. He finished it with a lot of power, there was not a lot in the cross so he made the power with the header.”
