Caley Thistle hero John Robertson has returned to the club as manager 13 years after guiding them to the top flight for the first time. The Jags were relegated under former captain Richie Foran last season following a disappointing campaign. Robertson has joined the club on a two-year deal after a five year absence from management, following his tenure at East Fife. The 52-year-old will leave his role as Head of Coach Education at Premier League side Hearts to take up the post. Chairman Willie Finlayson commented “We had an excellent interview process with some strong candidates but John emerged as our unanimous choice. “We were hugely impressed with his tremendous drive, determination, communication and motivational skills. “He clearly has a great knowledge of the game in Scotland and is both well respected and connected. “We firmly believe he is the right man to lead us back into the Premier League.”
