Caley Thistle secured their first win of the Championship season with a comfortable 4-0 victory against Brechin at Glebe Park.
The win lifts Inverness off the bottom of the division and to within touching distance of the top half of the table.
John Robertson made four changes from the side which drew 1-1 with Morton last weekend.
Collin Seedorf sat this one out due to suspension while captain Gary Warren missed out due to an ankle injury.
Riccardo Calder and George Oakley dropped to the bench with David Raven, Connor Bell, Alex Cooper and Matthew Elsdon coming into the starting 11.
Inverness huffed and puffed in the opening 25 minutes against a well organised Brechin defence but from the moment they broke the deadlock the outcome of this one was not in doubt.
Iain Vigurs, wearing the captain’s armband in the absence of Warren, opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a deflected shot which beat Graeme Smith in the Brechin goal.
The Highlanders doubled their lead five minutes later when Brad McKay headed Cooper’s corner past Smith from 12 yards.
Inverness secured all three points just after the hour mark when John Baird set-up Cooper and he fired the ball past Smith.
The visitors were not finished there though and Vigurs grabbed his second of the game and his side’s fourth when he netted with a glancing header from Polworth’s corner.
