Caley Thistle midfielder Jake Mulraney says Inverness will quickly climb the table if they maintain the level of performance they displayed in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Falkirk.
Inverness were dominant against the Bairns but somehow failed to find a breakthrough, spurning a succession of chances in the second half.
Mulraney was at the heart of his side’s attacking play, denied by an excellent save from Falkirk goalkeeper Robbie Thomson before he struck the post. Although John Robertson’s side remain second-bottom of the Championship table, a point behind Falkirk and 11 points adrift of the promotion play-offs, Mulraney is confident his side is improving, having recorded three successive clean sheets.
Mulraney said: “I don’t know how we didn’t win the game – we had about 10 chances. We’ve hit the post, had headers cleared from the penalty spot. We just have to take our chances – I think it will come. If we keep doing what we’re doing in terms of the other side of it, we’ll start climbing the table.
“It’s just about consistency now and hopefully building on that. We can easily stay away from the bottom of the table and reach the play-offs even.”
Mulraney was making his first start since the 5-1 defeat at Dunfermline on August 12.
