It was a great performance and it sounds crazy but it could have been a lot more.
But we have played like that all season, we just haven’t taken our chances. This time, we took some of our chances.
This is a team that took six off Dundee United on Saturday, but we could have taken six or seven off them quite easily.
We will take what we got. It was always going to be difficult in the second half, as they were going to up their game a bit and we tended to get a bit safer.
It’s difficult to keep the concentration level because the game drops to a level where you need to get that next goal. If you get it, you get another lift from it.
We couldn’t get it, we had chances, there were some good saves and unlucky misses. It’s a terrific night for us.
We have played well and created a lot of chances in games. There was a stat at the weekend which showed we are second in the table for creating chances, we’ve just not taken them.
We had four forwards who scored, which is great, and we could have had more. George Oakley could have had two or three more, Aaron Doran and Connor Bell were unlucky, too. We’ve got Nathan Austin in there as well who we hope can add some firepower, and that’s all we’ve been lacking. We’ve created lots of chances in lots of games.
It’s a big boost for the players and the fans. It was massive for us, we’ve got the points and now we can move even closer against Queen of the South on Saturday.
