Caley Thistle have signed Queen of the South defender Shaun Rooney on a pre-contract agreement. The 21-year-old will join Inverness on June 1. Rooney has made 23 appearances for the Queen of the South this season. He has previously enjoyed spells at Dunfermline Athletic, York City and Queen’s Park. Rooney won the Scottish League 1 title with Dunfermline in 2016 and the FA Trophy at Wembley during his time at York City. At Queen’s Park, he was named in the 2014-15 PFA League 2 team of the year and named the club’s young player of the season.
