Caley Thistle recorded their seventh draw in a row after it ended honours even in a four-goal thriller of a Highland derby against Ross County at Caledonian Stadium.

County led then had to come from behind to earn a point with all the goals coming in the first half.

Caley Thistle manager John Robertson made three changes from the side which drew 2-2 with Dunfermline in midweek with Daniel Mackay, Charlie Trafford and Jordan White all dropping to the bench. Their three replacements were Joe Chalmers, Aaron Doran, who captained the side, and George Oakley.

Ross County co-managers Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Ferguson made one change from the team which drew 1-1 with Falkirk on Tuesday with captain Marcus Fraser returning to the starting line-up in place of Stelios Demetriou, who was named among the substitutes.

County struck first with Jamie Lindsay collecting a Don Cowie pass before striding forward the drilling the ball low past Mark Ridgers from 25 yards in the 17th minute.

But the Staggies’ lead lasted only two minutes as Caley Jags quickly restored parity when Oakley flicked a Tom Walsh header past Scott Fox and the home side, energised by their equaliser, deservedly took the lead on the half hour mark when Shaun Rooney rounded off a fine passing move when he side-footed the ball past Fox from 16 yards.

County, despite not playing well, conjured an equaliser out of nothing just before the break as Billy Mckay drilled a low ball across goal where Inverness defender Brad McKay deflected it past his own goalkeeper to make it 2-2.

Sean Kelly missed a great chance for County in the second half while Liam Polworth struck the post for Inverness as both sides pushed for a winner but in the end they had to settle for a point apiece.
