Caley Thistle manager John Robertson has hailed the contribution of goalkeeper Mark Ridgers in the club’s 24-match unbeaten Championship run but insists it has been no one-man-show.

Inverness’ remain undefeated in the league since they lost 1-0 against Dunfermline on March 13, in a run which has seen them break their club record of 22 matches set by Steve Paterson’s side in 1996-97.

Last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Partick Thistle was settled by Tom Walsh’s outstanding strike, while goalkeeper Mark Ridgers also saved a late penalty from Jags midfielder Blair Spittal.

Robertson is determined to keep the run going when Caley Jags travel to Queen of the South tomorrow, but says contributions from all over the park will be required once again.

Robertson said: “They have all played their part. There have been games we have struggled in, but our defence and goalkeeper have been outstanding.

“There are games where our attack-minded players have gone and won the match for us, like they did on Saturday.

“It has been a real all-round team effort. There have been some outstanding contributions from all the players.

“Mark Ridgers, again, has been given a lot of credit and lauded this week. Rightly so, because he has been absolutely magnificent during his whole time here since he came back.

“He is the first to admit the likes of Brad Mckay, Coll Donaldson, Carl Tremarco and Shaun Rooney in front of him, as well as the midfield and forwards, have all done their bit.

“It has been a real team effort to achieve that – and we want to keep it going as long as we can.

“We certainly want to win more games, that’s definitely the answer. Hopefully we can use Saturday’s victory as a springboard to get more wins on the board.”

Robertson says the victory over Thistle, which ended a run of seven straight draws, has left his squad in buoyant mood ahead of the trip to Dumfries.

He added: “We can see it has given the players that lift because psychologically, had we ended that sequence with a defeat on Saturday we would be talking about the fact we hadn’t won in eight games.

“Winning the game shows it as it is – it’s undefeated in 24.

“They have been flying in training this week, they have found an extra yard and it has given everybody a lift.

“We look forward to another tough away game on Saturday. It’s the middle one of three that we have targeted wins from.”
