Sean Welsh has signed a new two-year deal with Caley Thistle.
The former Partick Thistle and Falkirk midfielder, who signed for the club last summer, has joined Mark Ridgers in committing his future to Inverness until 2022.
Last week he was voted the club’s joint player of the season, alongside Joe Chalmers, despite being sidelined with a foot injury for the remainder of the campaign.
He has scored four goals in 34 appearances for the Caley Jags and while he will miss out in their play-off push, he is set for an extended stay in the Highland capital.
Welsh said: “I’m gutted that I can’t help the boys in the play-offs but they have my full support and we stand a great chance following the performance on Tuesday night.”
Caley Thistle boss John Robertson added: “We’re delighted that Sean has extended his contract with us. It’s great that Sean and his family are committed to staying in the Highlands.”
“Sean has got a wealth of experience and has showed his worth to the club with his performances this season.”
