John Robertson is reportedly on Dundee’s shortlist to be their new manager.

The Caley Thistle boss, who steered his team into the Championship play-offs this season, has been earmarked as a potential successor to Jim McIntyre.

Robertson is under contract with the Caley Jags until 2021 and has guided the club to fifth and third since retaking charge in 2017.

Dundee will face Inverness in the Championship next season after finishing bottom of the Premiership. Caley Thistle were eliminated from play-off contention by Dundee’s city rivals United on Friday night.

Joe Chalmers and Liam Polworth have already agreed moves away from the Caledonian Stadium and losing their manager would be a further setback to the Highland capital club.

Robertson has won the Challenge Cup twice during two separate spells in charge, while also leading them to promotion for the first time in 2004.

McIntyre replaced Neil McCann early in the 2018-19 season but was unable to avert their slide towards the second-tier, where they last played in 2014.
