Caley Thistle manager John Robertson has called on his side to encourage potential investors the Highlanders are intent on returning to the Premiership.
Inverness are in a period of transition off the field, with Graham Rae stepping down as chairman and being replaced by Ross Morrison ahead of next Thursday’s extraordinary general meeting.
Caley Jags are in their third successive season in the Championship, with the club keen to secure new investment in order to help them tackle the challenges of life in the second-tier.
Robertson’s men have made a fine start to the campaign, winning four of their opening six matches to sit just two points adrift of the top of the table.
The Caley Jags boss wants his side to show they mean business in their pursuit of promotion, and he said: “The club have indicated ahead of the EGM they are looking for new investors.
“It won’t affect the football aspect. We have to continue what we are doing, which is winning games.
“We want to show people out there that may be interested we are a club that’s going to be battling at the right end of the table to get back where we need to. That’s the Premiership.
“The chairman has said he has done everything he can, and put a considerable part of his own money into that.
“I worked under Graham for three years. He has worked hard for the football club, as has the rest of the consortium he was involved with.
“Anybody that puts money into football should be lauded, because it’s not normally a business you will see a big return from – unless you are at a top club in the English or European club.”
Robertson revealed chief executive Scot Gardiner has addressed the squad in an attempt to allay concerns, and he added: “Scot has had a chat with the players to tell them there is nothing to worry about.
“I’m not in charge of the finance, I don’t know the cashflow or wage bill aspect. I’m not privy to those chats. But from speaking to Scot as we do regularly, he’s very optimistic and confident we will have a board of substance to take the club forward. That’s what we hope for.
“Scot has done this before at other clubs, where he has found investors.
“He has had a lot of meetings with high individual people, and he’s fairly confident all will be good.”
