Caley Thistle have signed Falkirk defender Lewis Toshney on an 18-month deal – with Elgin City striker Shane Sutherland also emerging as a target.
Inverness manager John Robertson last night moved to bring in former Ross County defender Toshney after his short-term deal with the Bairns expired.
The 27-year-old began his career with Celtic, and has had spells with the Staggies, Kilmarnock, Dundee, Raith Rovers and Dundee United prior to joining Falkirk in the summer.
Toshney could be joined by Elgin’s leading scorer Sutherland, who is out of contract at Borough Briggs in the summer.
The 29-year-old, who began his career with Inverness before being released in 2013, is attracting interest from numerous clubs including League 1 side Raith Rovers and English non-league sides Dover Athletic and York City.
Inverness are believed to have moved to the front of the queue to sign the Wick-born forward however, with Robertson making a previous inquiry over Sutherland 12 months ago but not in time before the 22-goal striker completed a move to Peterhead.
