Nick Ross has set his sights on winning a new deal with Caley Thistle.
The attacking midfielder’s immediate task is to force his way back into John Hughes’ starting 11 but the former Scotland under-21 international is also chasing a long term goal of extending his deal which is due to expire at the end of the season.
Ross, who impressed in the 5-0 win at Forres Mechanics on Wednesday, said: “I’ve come back just wanting to get into the team, that’s the most important thing for me.
“If I do get the chance, then I want to stay there and get as many games as I can. I’m into the last year contract, so I need to start thinking a little bit about that as well.
“I’ve been in this position before, but last time I was injured and I got offered a new contract. It’s a good incentive for me to get into the team and to play well.
“If there’s a contract at the end of it then great, but it’s just all about getting in the team.Last season it didn’t happen for me towards the end, but it would be good to get back in the team and get going again.”
