Caley Thistle forward Billy Mckay is determined to hit the ground running with the Highlanders this season.
The Inverness club continue its preparations for the new campaign with games against Deveronvale, Fleetwood Town and Birmingham City and Mckay is targeting a fast start again for the club following his fine campaign last term.
McKay, whose side face Deveronvale on Wednesday, said: “I’m looking forward to getting going again this season and hoping I can get off to the same start as last season.
“I scored eight goals in the first eight games of the season so hopefully I can get off to the same start as that.
“The games against the Highland League clubs and Elgin have been good so far and they are good to get in at this stage of the season but the English teams should be good for us.
“Fleetwood did well last season and had one of our former players, Charlie Taylor, there on loan. The match will be perfect for our preparations as it’s not long to go until the start of the season and Fleetwood will be similarly not too far from the start of theirs.”
Caley Thistle play Fleetwood Town on Sunday in what will be the club’s only home game of pre-season.
Entry is free for under-16s with concessions priced at £5 and adult admission is £10.
A barbecue and funfair will be at the stadium before the match and supporters will have the chance to meet the first team squad at the end of the game.
