Caley Thistle are expected to field a young side in tonight’s AJG Parcels North of Scotland Cup first round tie away to Clach.
The two Inverness sides meet at Grant Street Park to contest for a place alongside Elgin City, Wick Academy, Lossiemouth, Forres Mechanics and either Brora Rangers or Thurso in round two.
However, a spate of injuries has prompted Caley Jags manager John Hughes to be cautious with the use of his squad, ahead of Saturday’s final pre-season friendly away to Birmingham City.
“I very much doubt any of the lads who played against Fleetwood will be in the squad,” said Hughes.
“We’re nursing one or two knocks with Ross Draper, Josh Meekings, Richie Foran and Danny Devine sitting out on Sunday.
“We’re quite small on numbers so we have to be very protective, to make sure we don’t pick up any more injuries.”
