Caley Thistle defender Josh Meekings says he was delighted to net his first goal for the club but he was left disappointed that it was not enough to help his club to a victory.
Meekings headed Inverness into a 1-0 lead against Aberdeen on Saturday but the Dons fought back to win 3-2 in a thrilling 90 minutes at Pittodrie and, speaking after the match, Meekings admitted his first Caley Thistle goal will always be a bitter sweet memory – although he admits he would rather Caley Thistle had won the tie and he had not scored at all.
The former Ipswich Town man also said he is looking forward to this Sunday’s Highland derby when he hopes he and his Caley Thistle team mates can “take three points and put them (Ross County) back over the bridge with nothing”.
