Caley Thistle manager John Hughes hopes the success of his side will entice more supporters to attend games.
Inverness gave season-ticket holders the chance to bring a friend to Saturday’s game against Dundee United for £5, with a crowd of 3,508 turning out to see a Caley Jags 1-0 victory that propelled them to joint top of the Premiership.
Although that fell below this season’s average attendance of 3,799, Hughes hopes his side continues to make it difficult for supporters not to turn out in good numbers.
He said: “We’re a so-called provincial club and you just need to look at our gates. We’ve got a wonderful bunch of supporters and, no matter if it’s just one man and a dog out there, you have to give everything for them because they’ve got a great pride in their club.
“The club is trying every initiative. I see posters – buy a season ticket and under-12s can get one free, bring a friend for a fiver at the Dundee United game on Saturday. The work these boys do in the community is non-stop. They’re the hardest-working people at this club.
“We’re doing everything we can to try to raise the profile and get more supporters through the door. We keep competing with the likes of Dundee United and it’s all credit to these boys. It makes you proud to be associated with them.”
