Caley Thistle manager John Hughes’ belief in the way his side should play will not waver despite Saturday’s 4-0 defeat against Partick Thistle.
Inverness’ unbeaten home record this season was brought to a crushing halt by Thistle although the Caley Jags remain second in the Premiership.
Hughes has challenged his players to prove Saturday’s performance was simply a bad day at the office and said: “I’ve got so much belief in how football should be played. Trust me, that’s not from Inverness, this is from the moment I went into coaching. Even when I was playing I was coaching, as a captain I had a belief in how the game should be played. I had my own ideas. People are talking about it now in Inverness, but I’ve been doing this for 12 years.
“We’ve got a big programme coming up over Christmas. I can sit and talk now, but it’s all about what happens on a Saturday.
“We need to go out and do the business, keep winning the matches to go and get success. Everything we’ve been doing has been vindicated. But that’s why I don’t go home and lose too much sleep about what we can or can’t achieve.
“We’re only as good as our last game, and that’s why we’ve to keep our feet firmly on the pedal, but most importantly on the ground.”
