Three straight defeats, but Caley Thistle defender Gary Warren has urged his side not to panic, insisting Inverness have done little wrong.
Sunday’s 1-0 defeat by Aberdeen represented the first time Caley Jags had lost three matches on the bounce since January 2011. But Warren feels recent results have not fairly reflected performances.
Inverness are aiming to return to winning ways at Ross County in tomorrow’s Highland derby and Warren is determined to get back to winning ways.
He said: “It’s not a disastrous spell we’re going through. It’s three losses and we could have easily picked up two wins. It’s one of those things that will happen in the season. It’s just how quickly we turn it around.
“It’s down to fine margins. Looking at the last two games, in particular, both could have gone either way. If you look at the Aberdeen game, they took their chance and we didn’t.
“We need to be more clinical at both ends. That’s not just scoring goals, it’s getting back to being a bit harder to beat and harder to break down.
“It’s more frustrating than anything. We’re not the type of team that will let that affect us. We’re frustrated by the fact we’ve played well in games and have deserved to pick up a couple of points, but we haven’t done.
“That drives us on more and makes the boys more determined to succeed. That’s down to the honesty we’ve got in the changing room. The boys work hard, but now is a time when we’ve lost three games, so we need to put that right.”
Warren feels victory in tomorrow’s derby encounter would mark the perfect way to bounce back, but the 30-year-old says confidence is no issue.
He added: “They’re a tough side to play against. It’s always the case in a Highland derby, it’s one of the toughest games of the season. Both teams want to have the bragging rights.
“Even though we haven’t picked up the points we deserve we’ll go there full of confidence because we’re still creating chances.
“We haven’t been carved open, we haven’t been clinical at both ends. That’s what we need to do when we go there.
“We can all go out and celebrate together when we win and it’s exactly the same when we lose. You have to be together more as a team when you lose. As a group, you lose and that hits you harder. We’ll bounce back from these last three games and we’ll kick on again. That’s just the way we are.”
