A former Caley Thistle footballer has launched a campaign to bring Gary Barlow to the Highlands to sing at his wedding.
Chris Finnigan, 28, from Beauly is hoping his Twitter campaign can lure the Take That frontman to perform and surprise his bride-to-be during the service in Beauly on July 3 this year.
A saxophonist is already booked to play the band’s hit song A Million Love Songs as Mr Finnigan’s fiance, Sarah Moir, also 28, walks down the aisle in the Phipps Hall in the Highland village in less than six months’ time.
The venue is where Mr Finnigan proposed to his fiancee, and also where the couple shared their first kiss aged 14 at a Charleston Academy Christmas dance.
The 43-year-old Take That singer challenges social media users to create as big a campaign as possible to convince him that he should come and sing at their wedding.
Only five spaces are available this year for his services and one place is still up for grabs.
The former Caley Thistle first team player, who now runs his own Beauly-based mobile beer business, Bars R Us, said: “In the majority of weddings he actually sings at the wedding service. As we have already planned for the saxophonist to be there playing, it would be fantastic if he was there to sing too.
“We have also got a place for him on my stag party as well if he wants to come along.”
The social media campaign has started well, with the official Caley Thistle Twitter page using #getgarytobeauly to spread the word.
