Caley Thistle manager John Hughes is confident off-field matters will not derail his side’s progress on the pitch.
Inverness are sitting third in the Scottish Premiership after winning five matches in a row in a flawless start to 2015.
Things could not be going better for the in-form Caley Jags but defender Graeme Shinnie’s decision to sign a pre-contract agreement with Aberdeen will have put a dampener on spirits around Caledonian Stadium.
Top scorer Billy Mckay is also out of contract at the end of the season and also appears to be nearing the end of his time in Inverness. But manager Hughes is hopeful his side can keep the winning momentum going against Ross County on Saturday.
He said: “At Hamilton on Saturday, we gave the players instructions at half-time and they went out and put it into practice and, as a coach or a manager, it is always pleasing to see that.
“It has been like that all season and since I first came to the club. We are a better football team than we showed against Hamilton. We can play some wonderful stuff.
“I think the style of football we are playing stimulates the players. I have got players here who want to become better footballers. When we are getting results to go along with that, it is a good recipe.”
Caley Jags are facing an anxious wait to discover if goalkeeper Dean Brill’s injury is as bad as first feared. The Englishman was stretchered off in the final minute of Saturday’s 2-0 win at Hamilton after twisting a knee.
Hughes said Ryan Esson, who made only one appearance during the 2013-14 season, may be in line for a start against Highland rivals Ross County this weekend.
The Inverness manager added: “Dean has been outstanding for us this season. Fingers crossed he will be ready to go at the weekend but if not we have Ryan Esson.
“He is on the staff now and works the goalkeepers very hard. I think he showed what he could do by making a couple of saves when he went on.
“That spoiled the day for us, so, hopefully, he is OK.”
