Inverness Caley Thistle have had a bid rejected for Southend United forward Lee Barnard.
After losing Billy Mckay to Wigan last week, Caley Thistle targeted Barnard to boost their attacking options.
This month Southend have signed two strikers, pushing already out of favour 30-year-old Barnard further down the pecking order, however, the Shrimpers are looking for more money for the striker who is in his second spell at the club.
Barnard came through the Tottenham youth academy, during which time he enjoyed five loan spells away from White Hart Lane before signing for Southend permanently in 2008.
A successful spell with the Shrimpers saw him earn a move to Southampton before he returned to Southend last January.
