Cash-strapped families won’t be left without football boots this winter – thanks to an initiative kicked off by the Caley Thistle Trust.
Working in tandem with their community department, the Championship club want to help football-daft adults and children who might be struggling during the current cost of living crisis.
This week, the ICT Rebooted scheme was launched, which allows people to buy refurbished top-of-the-range football boots worn by first-team and academy players.
The price per pair of boots is just a £5 donation to the club’s trust and proceeds will cover the cost of cleaning and refurbishing the boots and will go towards the delivery of future coaching programmes and community events.
Team effort to deliver low-cost boots
Daniel Lamond, ICT Trust assistant manager, praised the united efforts of the players within the club and is confident it will make a positive impact to north families in the coming weeks.
He said: “To see the level of support from first-team players and our academy players to donate their boots to this important cause is fantastic.
“To be able to provide affordable boots for people across the local area is vital to encouraging everyone to still enjoy the chance to play football, even in the current cost of living crisis.”
