Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has refused to comment on his link with a summer move for Caley Thistle defender Graeme Shinnie.
The 22 year-old Caley Jags vice-captain is under contract for another year at Caledonian Stadium but the Dons have been tracking the Aberdonian’s progress in the Highlands.
Inverness have placed a six figure valuation on the player, who is also attracting interest from Hibernian and England, but with the defender in the final year of his contract Aberdeen could test the Highlanders’ resolve with a bid if chairman Stewart Milne will sanction a transfer bid from Pittodrie.
