Estonian international winger Tarmo Kink has joined Caley Thistle and Inverness manager John Hughes has not ruled out the possibility of fellow new signing Edward Ofere remaining with the club beyond the end of the season
Kink, 29, has agreed a deal for the rest of the season and is in line to make his debut for Inverness against Raith Rovers in Saturday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final at the Caledonian Stadium.
Kink joins Nigerian attacker Ofere, 28, who made a scoring start to his Caley Thistle career in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Motherwell. Ofere has signed until the end of the season but Hughes says the former Sogndal, Lecce and Malmo player could be offered a longer-term deal if he impresses.
Hughes said: “We will see how he does. Having missed out in the transfer window, I felt the supporters needed something.
“I am a supporter as well, so I know how they feel. We want to see Inverness doing business. We just missed out on one or two during the transfer window but bringing in Edward is a good bit of business.
“That is for the supporters and I am grateful to the chairman and the board of directors for getting it done. It shows we are all in it together and trying to bring success to the club.”
Hughes believes new signing Ofere, who had not played a competitive match since October, will benefit from another week of training before Saturday’s cup quarter-final.
He added: “We might have left him on the bench against Motherwell but there was a lot of thought put behind it. We know he is not there in terms of fitness and that showed in the second half when he was played in on goal but he didn’t have the legs on a heavy pitch to get there.
“We will keep working on his fitness. He is a great guy to be around. Edward lights a room up with his smile. He is a giant gentleman and he has fitted in really well.
“It will do him no harm to get 90 minutes under his belt and scoring a goal.
“He is a good acquisition and it will be interesting to see how it pans out from now until the end of the season and how he gets on once he gets fitter.”
