Inverness Caley Thistle have reportedly taken one of the brightest talents in English non-league football on trial.
It is believed Aldershot Town winger Jordan Roberts will train with the Caley Jags squad as John Hughes assesses his options before making moves to strengthen his squad.
Roberts has represented England at C level and following an impressive season for Aldershot he has attracted interest from a number of Football League clubs this summer, with Aldershot boss Barry Smith admitting he faces a struggle to hold onto his star man.
Smith told the GetHampshire website: “There is interest but Jordan is a very important part of our squad and I want him to stay.
“We’ve offered him a deal for next season but we can only offer what we can afford. Whether it’s enough to keep him here…only time will tell.
“I totally understand any player wanting to play at a higher level and we now face a battle to keep him.
Hughes’ Inverness squad has been weakened by the loss of Marley Watkins, Graeme Shinnie, Nick Ross and Edward Ofere and the addition of Roberts could help to replace the threat posed by Watkins.
