The 20-year-old will spend the first of those four years on loan at Inverness but Celtic have the option to recall him from the loan in January.
Caley Thistle boss John Hughes said: “I’m extremely pleased that Ryan, a local lad, has been able to play for his local team at the highest levels in Scotland and thus secure a move to the team of his dreams. He deserves every success at Celtic Park.
“In view of our severe injury crisis, it was crucial that we didn’t lose his services immediately.
!We look forward to Ryan re-joining us following the conclusion of contract negotiations and to making his contribution as we bid to climb the table.
“He is coming back on a season loan though his home club do have an option to recall him in January.
“This move for Ryan is a wonderful incentive for the young lads on the fringes of the 1st team to now kick on and show they are worthy of following in his footsteps”
The midfielder is the seventh summer arrivals at Parkhead following the signings of Nadir Ciftci, Dedryck Boyata, Saidy Janko, Scott Allan and Logan Bailly as well as loanee Tyler Blackett.
