New Caley Thistle forwards Miles Storey and Tobi Sho-Silva are confident they can make an instant impact with the Highlanders.
The pair joined Inverness on Tuesday, both signing loan deals until January, with Storey arriving from League 1 side Swindon Town and Sho-Silva from Championship club Charlton Athletic.
Storey had spells on loan at League 2 sides Portsmouth and Newport County last season, but has so far found opportunities limited with Swindon this season, making just two substitute appearances.
The 21-year-old spent time on trial with St Mirren in January, prior to the Buddies’ relegation from the Scottish top-flight, and is looking forward to the challenge of contesting for an attacking berth with John Hughes’ side, which has scored just four goals in eight matches this season.
Storey said: “When I went up to St Mirren last year I noticed the standard was very good.
“I was at Portsmouth earlier last season, which was different as it was a big club in a lower league.
“I feel the standard and tempo of the Premiership is a lot higher, so I wanted to have a good crack at it and see if I can do well up here.
“I’ve done well when I’ve been at other clubs, scoring goals and creating them as well.
“I’m just looking to play games to show what I can do.
“My contract runs out at the end of the season so I’ve got to be doing well.”
Sho-Silva has yet to make a first team appearance for Charlton, and reckons his move to Scotland is a chance to gain invaluable game time.
The 20-year-old: “It’s good to now know what I’m doing until January. I would say my best position is down the middle, as a number nine. I enjoy link-up play and runs in behind as well. I am feeling match fit and ready to go.
“I feel this could be a very good opportunity for me to show what I can do, at a very good level.
“I want Charlton to see I’ve got the experience and the know-how to play.
“Opportunities are there for people my age at Charlton. But I’ve struggled a bit to find my form.
“I think this is a very good opportunity to show what I’m capable of.”
